Join our panel of female founders as they share insight and expertise on growing an organization and deepening social impact through arts nonprofits.

Panelists:

Kim Dawson is an assistant professor in the Music Business/Management Department at Berklee College of Music and director of advancement at ZUMIX. She has worked with Actors’ Shakespeare Project as executive producer and the Young Audiences of Massachusetts as executive director.

Shaumba-Yandje Dibinga is the founding artistic and executive director of OrigiNation, a nonprofit performing arts organization that inspires youth through dance. She has extensive training, teaching, and performance experience in all areas of dance and theater. Dibinga, who has been writing poetry and producing plays for 20 years, is the author of Pride in My Stride.

Hilken Mancini is the cofounder and program director of the Boston Chapter of Girls Rock Camp, which empowers girls, transgender youth, and gender nonconforming youth to believe in themselves through music education and performance. In 2012, Mancini formed the Monsieurs, a garage punk band that has released two albums and several singles.

Catherine Morris is a social entrepreneur, visionary, and events produce. She is the founder and executive director of the Boston Art & Music Soul (BAMS) Festival, which strives to break down racial and social barriers to arts, music, and culture for marginalized communities and artists of color across Greater Boston.

Madeleine Steczynski is the cofounder and executive director of ZUMIX, an East Boston nonprofit dedicated to building community through music and creative technology. She is a founding member of Cultural Connections, and in 2012 was honored with a Berklee Urban Service Award.

Angelina Botticelli is a freshman at Berklee College of Music on a full scholarship. A multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter, Botticelli is a lifelong East Boston resident and graduate of Boston Arts Academy High School.
