From Ethnic to Electronic
Join Wendy Rolfe, a professor in the Woodwind Department at Berklee College of Music, for an evening of newly commissioned pieces for ethnic flutes, modern flutes, and piccolo. The performance will feature ethnic flutes from China (Di-Zi), Kenya (Chivoti), Korea, and Japan. The pieces will be accompanied by piano (Deborah DeWolf Emery) and percussion (Ricardo Monzon).
Featured composers include Harvey Sollberger, Burak Besir, I-Yun Chung, Beth Denisch, Jimmy Kachulis, and Kazuyo Kuriya.
This presentation is the culminating recital for Rolfe’s Berklee Faculty Fellowship project, awarded last spring. View full event poster.
