Berklee professor Eguie Castrillo is a Grammy Award winner (Arturo Sandoval’s Latin Jazz 1998 record of the year) and an engaging showman who performs year-round along with his mambo/Latin jazz/salsa bands in concerts, festivals, parties, and clubs all around the United States.
He has performed and recorded with prominent world music figures such as Tito Puente, the Boston Pops, Jennifer Lopez, Donna Summer, Steve Winwood, California Transit Authority (CTA), Blood Sweat & Tears, Tom Jones, Arturo Sandoval, KC and the Sunshine Band, Celia Cruz, United Nations Orchestra, and Michael Brecker, and he has sizzled many stages around the world with his infectious rhythm and electrifying performances in Europe, Asia, South America, Latin America, the Caribbean, and Puerto Rico.
This concert is part of the annual Tito Puente Latin Music Series, presented by Berklee College of Music, IBA - Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción, and the City of Boston Parks and Recreation Department. This six-concert series takes place in July and August and is an infectious soundscape of live Latin music and dance, with a strong salsa influence, in parks around the city. Performers include Berklee faculty, students, alumni, and world-renowned artists from Puerto Rico, Cuba, Ecuador, Brazil, and throughout Latin America.
