Edmar Noé Colón Gierbolini, a Berklee Presidential Scholar, is a 24-year-old tenor saxophonist, pianist, and composer from Coamo, Puerto Rico. Edmar began playing the saxophone at the age of 12. Progressing at high speed, Colon started playing around Puerto Rico in many events with various local artists. He quickly grabbed the attention of Berklee, and was awarded a full scholarship to the Five-Week Summer Performance Program three consecutive years, then graduated from Berklee with a dual major in performance and classical composition, and also was part of the undergraduate program of the esteemed Berklee Globlal Jazz Institute. directed by Danilo Pérez and Marco Pignataro. Edmar has toured and played in places such as the Detroit Jazz Festival, Puerto Rico Heineken Jazz Festival, Domincan Republic Jazz Festival, Panama Jazz Festival, Montreal Jazz Festival, Monterrey Jazz Festival, among others. Edmar has also recorded on records of artists such as the Spanish maestros Joaquin Sabina and Juan Manuel Serrat on their most recent release, with over 1 million in presales, and also preformed with artists including Joe Lovano, John Patittucci, Danilo Pérez, Hal Crook, Miguel Zenón, Kenny Werner, and many other great artists of several musical styles and genres. Edmar Noé Colon Gierbolini is an upcoming bright voice of his generation.
