Don Was is the president of Blue Note Records, the largest and oldest jazz record label. Blue Note boasts a "who's who" of jazz greats on its roster, and has recently been at the forefront of music that makes waves with the younger generations.

Artists such as Robert Glasper, Ambrose Akinmusire, Stefon Harris, Brian Blade, and Wayne Shorter represent some of the wide spectrum of current top artists working under the Blue Note brand. It is the ability to cross  audiences that has made Blue Note such a resilient force in the music industry.
