Since she came to Berklee in 2008, Silvina Moreno has had one goal: to explore her music potential and become the best artist she can be, a loyal messenger of beautiful music. Since the age of 10, Moreno has been mainly passionate about singing and performing, and has also developed her songwriting abilities, stage presence, guitar, piano and bass skills, and music business knowledge.
At Berklee, she has become involved with a series of high-profile shows, including the commencement ceremony in the Agganis Arena in Boston, singing for Grammy Award–winner Juan Luis Guerra in front of 6,000 graduating students and families.
In January of 2011, Moreno had the privilege of sharing the stage with acclaimed Uruguayan singer-songwriter Jorge Drexler. She says, "Jorge has taught me to breathe, to explore my identity as a songwriter, and have patience with the process of embracing my artistry."
She has also had the honor to sing with 10-time Grammy Award–winner Bobby McFerrin in a group of talented Berklee singers called the Singing Tribe. This concert was mainly produced to generate improvised music in song circles, mixed with composed choral pieces as well. "Bobby McFerrin has taught me how to learn from mistakes, how to embrace the stage and the audience, and forget about everything else. In the end, it is really all about the music," Moreno says. "That was one of the most unforgettable experiences I have had in my entire life."
Moreno spent last summer in London, where she interned for Camden Bars and performed in many venues, showcasing her music with an amazing group of musicians.
