The Chandler Travis Philarmonic is a nine-piece technicolor extravaganza from Boston with a horn section, string bass, mandocello, guitar, drums, accordion, and valet. It's possible they might be the missing link between the Kinks and Sun Ra, shamelessly combining disparate musical forms and using what seems to work at the moment. They perform mostly originals with obscure B-side covers from the '50s and the odd jazz standard thrown in for credibility. Must be heard to be understood.
