The Norm Zocher Trio has released two albums, Vol 1: the Book of Norman and Melodic Minor's Daughter on the A to Z Music Label. They can also be heard on drummer Brooke Sofferman's three Summit recordings as well as many other recordings. Norm has performed in North America at such venues as The Blue Note in New York to the Blue Room in Banff, Alberta to The House of Blues as well as in performances and/or recordings with Paul Bley, BobMoses, George Garzone, Steve Lacy, Bob Brookmeyer, and Maria Schneider to name a few. Zocher’s CDs have always had a strong presence on jazz radio nationally and have been featured on Gavin Radio’s Chartbound list.
This performance will feature Norm's compositions, which are so grounded in traditional strengths that one could swear each tune was an old great that somehow, has not yet been heard. At the same time, they are utterly modern and a completely individual statement that speaks truthfully to the jazz, rock, or blues lover for players and listeners alike.
David Gilmore leads three groups and has performed and/or recorded with a long list of musicians, Christian McBride, Javon Jackson, Ravi Coltrane, Muhal Richard Abrams, Don Byron, Dave Douglas, Melissa Etheridge, Trilok Gurtu, Meshell Ndegeocello, and Wayne Shorter.
