Roy Guzman, guitar, and Greg Chaplin, bass, of the Berklee Monterey Quintet

Following a remarkable summer, during which he played the Duke Ellington and Newport Jazz festivals, and recorded for both NPR and Sirius XM Radio, Roy Guzman brings the Berklee Monterey Quintet to throw down at the 52nd Monterey Jazz Festival.

The band takes the spotlight Friday at 8:00 p.m. outdoors on the Garden Stage and Saturday at 5:00 p.m. in the intimate Coffee House Gallery, the scene of many great Berklee student performances.

2009 Jimmy Lyons Scholarship recipient pianist Grant Richards will sit in with the group on both Friday and Saturday.
