Mighty Tiny / Shoney Lamar / Mrs. Danvers
Let us suppose one ordinary evening, strange winds draw an odd band to your town. Suppose, if you would, they bring eldritch instruments, juggling devils, and weirding hymns. Suppose they adorn themselves in peculiar vestiges whose better days have long since passed. Suppose they hide their faces with sinister masks of brilliant colors and dark histories. That band is Mighty Tiny.
Mrs. Danvers is a real rarity: an all-female, queer-identified quintet devoted to making unashamedly catchy, energetic, danceable pop/rock. Consisting of five young women from all over the country (Ohio, Miami, Alaska, and New England) who met at Berklee, Mrs. Danvers has a sound that's groovy while melodic, reflecting the varied influences and trained musicianship of its members.
