Voice Department faculty member Larry Watson prepares for a national tour to promote his new CD American Fruit with African Roots -- a musical social history and social commentary covering our triumphs and failures. It will be an evening to educate, entertain, and heal.

This concert features never-before-heard compositions from the album plus songs from Watson’s first release, The Journey. Watson’s special guest for the evening will be vocal legend Tata Vega, lead singer of the Andre Crouch Group and the voice of Shug in the Spielberg film The Color Purple. She will perform with Watson and showcase two songs from her upcoming gospel CD. The extraordinary drummer Les Cleveland will head up the All-Star Band.
