Heart Beats: BT featuring Chris Compton and Berklee Faculty
Alumnus BT comes back to Berklee for this Valentine's Day concert featuring Chris Compton, Richard Boulanger, Kari Juusela, Michael Bierylo, and Chi Kim.
BT is known as a sonik arkitect, platinum-selling artist, producer, celebrated film composer, virtuoso laptop performer, software developer, and visionary technologist.
In this concert, BT will draw from his entire catalog and, using his newest software, perform and collaborate with some of Berklee's top faculty and student developers and performers. A particular feature of this concert is the premiere of new systems and software being developed at Berklee by Richard Boulanger for the Music Therapy Department and the Assistive Technology Lab With this cutting-edge new software—SeeSound and TheraMuse—visually impaired students will use custom wireless controllers and iPads that will analyze and synchronize with BT's tracks and allow the students to perform on their laptops and to spontaneously improvise, accompany, and remix live with BT on stage. "Heart Beats" will showcase one of the most innovative, brilliant, prolific, and virtuostic electronic composer/performers of the 21st century. BT will lead a virtuoso chamber ensemble of cyber-soloists who's musical hearts "beat as one" through cutting edge software developed at Berklee. Don't miss BT's inspiring evening of deep, powerful, and exquisitely beautiful "cinema for the ear." Share the show with someone who beats your heart.
BT may only now be beginning to create the best work of his career—despite already being a platinum-selling artist, visionary producer, film composer, and technologist. An internationally-renowned recording artist in his own right, he is trusted by superstars such as Sting, Britney Spears, Sarah McLachlan, Tori Amos, Madonna, Seal, and Peter Gabriel to produce modern and memorable hits, with a bleeding-edge electronic flair. He has composed unforgettable scores for films such as The Fast and the Furious, Go, Stealth and Oscar-award winning Monster. With his latest two-hour, double-disk opus, BT definitively weaves his technical prowess with lyrical and compositional mastery that reminds us all why he's the composer that all other composers and producers study.
