Francisco Vielma y Panela Ensamble is a project founded in Caracas, Venezuela. They perform compositions by some of the most important Venezuelan songwriters arranged by Francisco Vielma.

Vielma's arranging showcases the distinctive elements of his generation—he blends tradition with improvisation and concert music. Composers like Simón Díaz, Luis Fragachan, Juan Vicente Torrealba, Leonardo Oporto, Pedro Manuel Yánez among others will be honored on this Panela Ensamble's premier in Boston.

Panela Ensamble are: Francisco Vielma on Multipercussion, Nella Rojas on voice, Evan Waaramaa on piano, Maureen Choi on violin, Aaron Gratzmiller on woodwinds and Mario Carrillo on acoustic bass. 

At 9:15 p.m., pianist and bassist HyoYoung Kim presents mixed styles, arrangements and original tunes, with student musicians, faculty and staff.
