The DARQ Ensemble is a chamber music collaboration composed of five Boston Conservatory at Berklee students who are united by a shared mission: a commitment to new music, a new ensemble, and an aim to redefine the traditional concert experience.
In pursuing one of its project’s main goals, DARQ has commissioned two new works to expand the body of repertoire for the reed quintet medium. These works will be premiered as part of our 2019–2020 concert season.
DARQ has performed as part of a cross-disciplinary concert led by member Tyler Harper, exploring the intersection between music and visual media. The quintet’s repertoire transcends stylistic boundaries, and is accessible to a diverse audience by drawing on influences from jazz, pop, and rock, in addition to the classical idiom.
