Stephany Tiernan and Laszlo Gardony present their former student, Cornelius Claudio Kreusch, who will perform pieces from his new solo piano CD and will be joined by Gardony for some two-piano performances.
Cornelius Claudio Kreusch, an Enja recording artist, is back for a rare visit from his native Germany. He is a world-class pianist, creative producer, and successful entrepreneur, and has performed at some of the most prestigious venues and music festivals including the Blue Note, Steinway Hall and the Knitting Factory, Montreux Jazz Festival, Munich Philharmonic Hall, Théâtre des Halles in Paris, Fondacion Miro in Barcelona, Tata Theater in Bombay, Sala Palatuli in Bucharest, the Centro de las Artes in Mexico City, and various and concert halls in Cuba.
He performed and recorded with some of the most respected jazz and world musicians including: Herbie Hancock, Salif Keïta, Bobby McFerrin, Kenny Garrett, Bobby Watson, Greg Osby, Anthony Cox, Marvin "Smitty" Smith, Will Calhoun, Terri Lyne Carrington, James Genus, Zaf Zapha, Anthony Cox, Jamey Haddad, and in a two-piano setting with pianists Herbie Hancock, Joachim Kühn, Laszlo Gardony, and Hans Poppel. Kreusch recorded over 20 albums of various genres for GLM, ENJA Records, ACT Music + Vision, Arte Nova/BMG, OehmsClassics, BlackMudSound Records, and MUSICJUSTMUSIC. A pianist “who sounds like no one else” (Boston Globe, John Dyer), Kreusch performed the first live internet concert on two pianos across the Atlantic with Herbie Hancock back in 1995. Kreusch is also the founder and CEO of MUSICJUSTMUSIC, a state-of-the-art music and media distribution, publishing, and licensing company.
