Isa Ansin, known professionally as chrysalis, is a Boston-based singer-songwriter currently attending Berklee College of Music. Heavily influenced by Lizzy McAlpine, Daniel Caesar, and Bruno Major, chrysalis fuses together an indie-pop sound with hints of folk and neo-soul. They strive to integrate their love for music with their passion for queer liberation by writing about their life and being backed by an all-queer band.
Despite having only been writing music for two years, chrysalis has had major success in their career so far. In November of 2021, they opened for Vérité alongside Kat Cunning in Boston, where they had their first gig at Brighton Music Hall. They were then asked to open again for Vérité, getting moved up to the second opening spot and making their New York City debut in the Bowery Ballroom. chrysalis also has found success via TikTok, accumulating over 85,000 followers and 2.2 million likes through their original music, covers of popular songs, and videos surrounding LGBTQ culture.
