Choro: Brazilian Music Roots
Choro is a musical genre that melds different styles and transforms them into Brazilian musical languages. Claudio Fernandes, an arranger, composer, guitarist, and music teacher for more than 20 years, has dedicated himself to the investigation of Brazilian popular music, specifically choro.
The choro movement at Berklee College of Music, which began through the formation of the group O'Seis Q'Choram, quickly gained interest and received its own course focused on solar melodies, levadas (rhythms), and the history of Brazilian popular music.
