As a trilingual, Brazilian singer-songwriter and pianist, 22-year-old Chella seeks to create music that helps people connect with themselves and the external world. Through deep, thoughtful, provocative lyrics and fresh combinations of harmonies and melodies—influenced by MPB, pop, jazz, and folk—Chella strives to find a path towards her truth while guiding others to find their own.

Chella began singing and playing piano at the age of 9, and soon started writing her own songs using the creative process as a vehicle for escapism and self-reflection. She released her first EP, Bittersweet, in 2017, with five original songs written in English. The EP was arranged by renowned Brazilian pianist and arranger Debora Gurgel.

In 2018, Chella moved to Boston to study songwriting and music business at Berklee College of Music, receiving a merit-based scholarship from the college. At Berklee, Chella had the opportunity to record with Mexican artist Natalia Lafourcade, one of her biggest musical inspirations. Throughout her Berklee career, Chella earned continued support through additional merit-based scholarships from notable institutions, such as the BMI/Peermusic Latin Scholarship Award in 2020 (for her original song, “São Paulo”) and the Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation Tuition Assistance Scholarship in 2021.
