Students from the Berklee Institute of Jazz and Gender Justice perform with Terri Lyne Carrington, a Grammy-winning drummer, producer, and educator; composer and bassist Linda May Han Oh; composer and pianist Kris Davis; saxophonist and composer Tia Fuller; flutist Elena Pinderhughes; and trumpeter Milena Fauquet. The concert is in partnership with WBGO and will be part of The Checkout—Live at Berklee, hosted by Simon Rentner.

The mission of the Berklee Institute of Jazz and Gender Justice is to recruit, teach, mentor, and advocate for musicians seeking to study jazz with gender equity as a guiding principle. Founded by Carrington, who also serves as the artistic director, the institute seeks to engage in the mission of making an important and long-lasting cultural shift in jazz and other music communities.

The concert features songs from the standards book of women composers the institute is creating. Compositions will be by artists Esperanza Spalding, Toshiko Akiyoshi, Fuller, Oh, Davis, and Carrington.
