Bury Me Standing and Martin Zarzar share the bill at Café 939. Bury Me Standing intertwines Balkan folksong, art metal, and psychedelic avant-pop to create a unique “gypsy dirge-core” sound. Lyrically, Bury Me Standing meditates on wars within and without. The band’s core instrumentation includes digital marimba, found-object percussion, prepared upright bass, extended technique violin, and vocals.

Martin Zarzar is a Portland, Oregon based multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter whose music grooves with vitality and rhythm while often dealing with social and political issues.
