Berklee alumnus Bruce Cox will offer a drum set clinic and share his professional experience. Cox has been a drummer for Fred Wesley and the New JBs, Sonny Rollins, JJ Johnson, Stanley Turentine, Ravi Coltrane, and many others.

Cox is a powerful performer, skilled in teaching, composing and producing. He studied at the Philadelphia College of Performing Arts as well as at Berklee. He has been performing since 1980, when he first toured with the prolific Intergalactic Sun Ra Arkestra.

Offstage, Cox fills his time teaching music theory and drumming to promising musicians. Cox has been a visiting professor at Long Island University, the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, and New York University, teaching alongside Nina D'Allesandro. He also shares his talents through music outreach programs sponsored by Jazz at Lincoln Center, to school-aged children of the five NYC buroughs.

Cox has recorded his original compositions on two CDs: Stick To It in 1996 and Staus Cymbals in 2012. Cox, Peter Madsen, and Dwayne Dolphin, the rhythm section of Fred Wesley's band, formed the trio Three of a Kind. In his Brooklyn-based studio, Cox has also recorded, produced, and engineered CDs for James Zollar and Eric Lemon. Cox's skills are marked by his endorsements from Pearl, Zildjian, Vic Firth, Evans, and Audix Microphones.

The diversity of Cox's playing style keeps him in demand.
