Blues musicians Guy Davis and Duke Robillard will each perform a one-hour concert as part of the Guitar Department’s Blues Week. Davis will begin his set, followed by Robillard.

Guy Davis has been writing, recording, and performing blues for three decades. Davis hails from New York City, and is the eldest child of celebrated actors Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee. He is a well-versed singer and guitarist in the styles of folk/blues and is accomplished with the banjo and harmonica. Davis has appeared on Late Night with Conan O’Brien and nationally syndicated radio programs, including A Prairie Home Companion and Mountain Stage.

Duke Robillard is an internationally acclaimed blues guitarist cited by B.B. King as “one of the great players.” Robillard has received four Blues Music Awards (formerly W.C. Handy Awards) and two Grammy nominations. Robillard is the founder of the band Roomful of Blues, and has performed and recorded with Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Dr. John, Jay McShann, Jimmy Witherspoon, and many others.

This event is sponsored by the Guitar Department.
