In the second installment of our Charlie Parker tribute, musicologist Lewis Porter will compare and contrast Parker's solos of the 1940s with those of the '50s. He will also show video of Parker, including some little-known silent film clips.

This event is part of our series of Facebook Live events celebrating the 100th anniversary of Parker’s birth and including such speakers as Porter, a pianist, composer, and musicologist; Carl Woideck, a saxophonist, jazz historian, and author; and Charles McPherson, esteemed alto saxophonist, in conversation with Berklee's Woodwind Department Chair Walter Smith III. Help us celebrate Parker's enduring legacy by joining us.
