In this clinic with with visiting artist Oscar Feldman, students will be introduced to the world of one of the most influential styles in music today. The topics covered in this clinic include: improvisation skills within the Latin jazz idiom; the most representative rhythmic patterns used in Latin jazz, such as rumba, cha-cha, Brazilian samba, and tango; solo analysis and solo transcription; melodic and rhythmic interpretation through listening and practice; and ensemble performance.
