Terri Lyne Carrington is a multiple Grammy Award–winning drummer, composer, and producer. After more than 20 years touring with such musicians as Herbie Hancock, Al Jarreau, Stan Getz, David Sanborn, and Cassandra Wilson, she recently returned to her hometown, where she was appointed Zildjian Chair in Performance at Berklee's Global Jazz Institute.
Two-time Grammy Award-winning bassist John Patitucci has performed throughout the world and as a studio musician with Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Dizzy Gillespie, Stan Getz, Pat Metheny, and many others. He is currently a visiting scholar at Berklee, teaching in both the Berklee Global Jazz Institute and the Bass Department.
The BGJI is a performance program designed to foster creativity and musicianship through various musical disciplines. The BGJI provides a comprehensive contemporary music environment where students are given opportunities to explore their creativity to the highest level possible, advance the power of music as a tool for the betterment of society, and connect musical creative thinking with the natural environment.
