This Berklee Global Jazz Institute (BGJI) forum features Danilo Pérez and Ben Street. 

Grammy Award-winning pianist and composer Danilo Pérez was born in Panama in 1965, went to Berklee in the 1980s, and has led his own groups since the early 1990s. In addition to his role as artistic director of the Berklee Global Jazz Institute, Pérez serves as a UNESCO Artist for Peace, a cultural ambassador for Panama, and as artistic director of the Panama Jazz Festival.

Ben Street studied at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston with Miroslav Vitous and Dave Holland before moving to New York in 1991. He has performed and toured with Danilo Pérez, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Lee Konitz, David Sanchez, and James Moody, among many others. 

The BGJI is a performance program designed to foster creativity and musicianship through various musical disciplines. The BGJI provides a comprehensive contemporary music environment where students are given opportunities to explore their creativity to the highest level possible, advance the power of music as a tool for the betterment of society, and connect musical creative thinking with the natural environment.
