Jensen is a trumpet and flugelhorn player from Nanaimo, Canada. An award-winning musician, she has been considered a standout jazz trumpeter since the 1995 release of her first album, Vernal Fields, which won a Juno Award. After releasing two more acclaimed albums, Jensen found herself in demand as a leader and session musician. She performed in Japan, South America, and Europe; taught at the Bruckner Conservatory in Austria; and eventually ended up in New York City, playing with both Maria Schneider’s and Darcy James Argue’s jazz orchestras.
