This ensemble is a group of Berklee College of Music students dedicated to the music of Jerry Reed, as performed by Chet Atkins and Reed.
Reed (1937–2008) went from studying Atkins’s approach to guitar playing to writing some of the best music the latter ever recorded, eventually working with Atkins (1924–2001) as one of his finest collaborators.
Reed’s compositions and recorded performances show the majesty of what a guitar can do. What Scott Joplin, Thelonious Monk, and Ray Charles gave to the piano, Jerry Reed gave to the guitar world.
