Join the Berklee Contemporary Symphony Orchestra (BCSO) as it celebrates 100 years of Roland Hayes and the music of African Americans in the United States.

As the first African American concert artist, Hayes inspired musicians across racial lines. The BCSO will honor his legacy with pieces by Terence Blanchard, Antonín Dvořák, Duke Ellington, John Carter, and a special world premiere by Berklee College of Music student Harsha Thangirala. The BCSO also will honor Leonard Bernstein, performing Candide.
