Warm your soul on Georges Island with music from passionate artists that speak to humanity. Each artist will perform a set of her music with stories of hope, vulnerability, and joy.
Georgia tells stories of youth, discoveries, and vulnerability. Her writing runs from empathetic to in-your-face, often playing the role of the open-eared observer. She honors the legacies of pop, soul, folk, and jazz in exploring everyday themes. In 2012 she released her all-original album In the Fog, with songs including “Salvation” and “Learn to Be My Fool,” recently licensed to a feature film in Los Angeles. Georgia was the recipient of Berklee's Songwriting Achievement Award and SESAC Award.
Wambura Mitaru is eclectic, and her fluid music blends funk, soul, R&B, jazz, and hip-hop as well ans sounds from African background. A young passionate singer and songwriter from Nairobi, she began her career in high school with training in classical music. She attended the Kenya Conservatoire of Music for further studies i until enrolling at Berklee College of Music in 2011. She has performed at the Boston Arts Festival, the Close Encounters Festival in Helsinki, the St. Petersburg festival, and several concerts at the Michael Joseph Centre in Nairobi.
