Famed New York area radio station WBGO Jazz 88.3 FM/WBGO.org, NPR Music, and Berklee present the seventh year of The Checkout—Live at Berklee. The series brings critically acclaimed, New York–based Berklee alumni back to their alma mater for concerts at the Red Room at Cafe 939. The shows are broadcast in New York over WBGO-FM as a special edition of The Checkout, the acclaimed multimedia show featuring what’s new in New York’s jazz scene. In addition, selected shows will be webcast live.

Mark de Clive-Lowe will talk about his career as an artist, as well as how he blends and remixes musical genres by using technology within an intricate and refined performance setup. De Clive-Lowe is a half Japanese, half New Zealander pianist, composer, live remixer, and producer who has been based in Los Angeles since 2008. Equal parts composer, jazz musician, found-sound remixer, and club music producer, he tours his multifaceted live show in solo and band setups internationally. He has released more than a dozen albums and hundreds of collaborations and remixes, creating with musicians, artists, and DJs from all around the world.

His critically acclaimed club night CHURCH has seen him on stage with multiple generations of the world’s most respected jazz, soul, and hip-hop artists. For his recent projects, he has done a deep dive into his Japanese heritage, interpreting it through the lens of jazz and electronica.
