Armand Zildjian Artist-in-Residence Master Class with Eric Harland
The third event of the annual Armand Zildjian Artist-in-Residence Program will be a master class featuring Eric Harland. A multi-Grammy-nominated drummer, Harland has already had nearly 400 recordings and multiple film scores at the age of 40. He has been recognized in the Boston Globe, the New York Times, Modern Drummer, and other prominent publications.
Harland has shared the stage with masters such as Betty Carter, Joe Henderson, MyCoy Tyner, Michael Brecker, Terence Blanchard, and many others.
Harland was the resident artistic director at the SFJAZZ Center for the 2014–2016 season and was also artist in residence at the 2014 Monterey Jazz Festival. Harland had the privilege of being invited to and attending President Barack Obama’s 2016 White House state dinner in honor of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
