Animal Flag is the solo-project of 20-year-old singer-songwriter and producer Matthew Politoski. Matthew is from Westtown, N.Y. and is studying Contemporary Writing & Production at Berklee College of Music. He blends elements of folk, electronic, and indie rock. and since 2007 has self-released numerous albums and EPs with Animal Flag.

Jesse Denaro adapts a DIY approach to his music, writing all of his own songs and playing all the parts, save for a bit of electric guitar, for his studio recordings. He does draw from the collaboration of some close friends on the arrangements but otherwise holds his song tight to his chest. Additionally, he dives into the background of the work, engaging in the engineering and mixing and mastering of his songs, not to mention the design work.

Based in Boston,  I/Ø has been playing together since fall of 2012. Drawing heavy influence from bands like Explosions In The Sky, Sigur Ros, and Hammock, I/Ø finished their first instrumental full-length album over the summer of 2013. Based on open textures, nuanced melody, and heavy artillery dynamic, the I/Ø sound allows the audience to form their own subjective aesthetic intention for the music, free from the confines of language and clarity. The songwriting process is organic, similar to the ebb and flow of the emotional states that fuel the final product, difficult to observe and often impossible to define. I/Ø believes human experience can be too beautiful and grotesque, inspiring and abhorrent, heartwarming and traumatic, to put into words.

Animal Flag will also have support from the Sulk Scouts
