Anastassiya Petrova is a jazz pianist from Kazakhstan, inspired by contemporary jazz pianists such as Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, and Brad Mehldau. Her recital will feature Kazakh folk tunes mixed with jazz styles and the explorations of odd meters expressed in her own original compositions.
Petrova has participated in international festivals in Italy, Bulgaria, Russia, and the United States. Her recital is dedicated to the emotions that occur while playing music, the process of improvisation led by intuition, and the special connection between fellow musicians. Motions of emotions and emotions of motion will be represented by dancers involved in the show.
