Two of the most fundamental figures in the Spanish music scene, flamenco guitarist Josemi Carmona and upright bass player Javier Colina, will present a clinic analyzing the process of recording their latest collaboration"De Cerca” (Up Close), a natural dialogue of flamenco and jazz.

Son of maestro Pepe Habichuela, Josemi Carmona is an heir to a crucial four-generation legacy of decisive Granada flamenco artists and one of the leading flamenco guitarists in Spain today.

Javier Colina is one of the best double bass players of the current scene. His career has led him to play with renowned jazz musicians such as George Cables, Tete Montoliú, Chucho Valdés, Jerry González, Perico Sambeat, and Jorge Pardo, among many others.

Carmona, Colina, and percussionist Bandolero will perform at the Mediterranean Music Institute annual concert at the Berklee Performance Center on March 16.
