Alexander Anderson, age 21, was a composer and professional performer in San Diego, California before coming to Berklee College of Music. At age 18, he was the house pianist in the historic Coronado Big Band under the direction of Sammy Nestico. Anderson has studied with and performed at master classes with Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Danilo Perez, Joanne Brackeen, and Eddie Gomez, to name just a few. With his jazz fusion band, Unidentified Fusion Orangement, Anderson has developed original compositions, produced two albums, and toured the West Coast. Performances of note include playing with Esperanza Spalding at the Berklee Performance Center, with Lamine Toure at Boston Center for the Arts, with Jason Palmer at Wally's Jazz Club, as solo piano at the Museum of Fine Arts, and at the U.S. Moakley Courthouse with his trio. In addition to his performances, he has arranged music for solo piano, piano trio, small jazz ensembles, string quartet, chamber ensemble, and jazz orchestra.
