21st Century String Band Ensembles
This concert features two ensembles coached by mandolinist Joe Walsh. One will play the music of the David Grisman Quintet, the influential string band that fused bluegrass swing and jazz into a widely popular sound in the greater bluegrass family; the other is focused on tune writing, and will feature new tunes written this semester by students.
