2019 Berklee Global Summit Welcome Concert
To kick off the first day of the biennial Berklee Global Summit, where Berklee hosts more than 50 guests from approximately 30 Berklee Global partner institutions, Global Initiatives presents an opening concert event, coproduced by Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
Matthew Marsit, chair of instrumental studies, will conduct a chamber group of Boston Conservatory at Berklee students performing David Biedenbender's “Shell and Wing.” Patty Thom, chair of voice, will present tenor Matthew Grills singing “Povero Ernesto” from Don Pasquale by Gaetano Donizetti, and “La Donna è Mobile” from Rigoletto by Giuseppe Verdi, accompanied by faculty member Nathan Salazar.
Tommy Neblett, dean of the Dance Division, will present a performance by Conservatory dance students. The showcase will also feature performances by four Berklee Global Jazz Masters ensembles, led by Marco Pignataro, managing director of the Berklee Global Jazz Institute.
This concert is free and open to the Berklee community.
