2017 International Championship of A Cappella Open Semifinal
The International Championship of A Cappella Open is an all-access a cappella tournament that encourages singers to bring together groups of any age, experience, or origin to form a cappella “dream teams” and compete for the chance to perform at Carnegie Hall for a cash prize of $25,000. The a cappella group placing first in this event will move on to the finals on September 23.
For 21 years, Varsity Vocals has promoted competitive college a cappella through the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA) tournament, long before their starring role in Pitch Perfect and Sing It On introduced a cappella to the mainstream. The ICCA, in turn, helped propel the growth of the International Championship of High School A Cappella (ICHSA). The Open is now the biggest program extension in its long history, and is in keeping with the founding goal of inspiring young people to sing throughout their lives.
