2013 National Poetry Slam Finals
The final round of the world's largest poetry slam returns to the Berklee Performance Center! The top poets from the week-long National Poetry Slam will compete for the championship title. Plus, enjoy a showcase of performances by world, local, and tournament champions. The National Poetry Slam is the largest team poetry slam in the world and the definitive showcase for competitive performance poetry. This year’s event will welcome more than 300 of the world’s best spoken word artists – representing more than 70 teams from around North America – to five days of competition in Boston, Cambridge, and Somerville.
The tournament culminates on Saturday night with the finals competition. The top four teams from the week’s competition will slam off for the national championship, performing individually or in “group pieces” to impress judges selected from the audience. Showcase performers will include local poetry celebrities, national and international champions, and crowd favorites from the tournament, including the poet-selected “underground” champ.
The 2013 National Poetry Slam is produced by Poetry Slam, Inc. and the Boston Poetry Slam. Visit nationalpoetryslam.com for more information about the event.
