Hip-hop, the top-selling music genre in the country, has always been at the forefront of leading an entire generation toward political activism. Through rap music and spoken word, MCs such as Chuck D, KRS-One, Common, Queen Latifah, 2Pac, and others have used their music, stories, and voices to inform the public and lead the fight for political change.

Less than one week prior to the most consequential election of our time, a stellar group of artists and activists will discuss their role in the political revolution, the use and impact of music to inspire political change, and the need for more artists to stand up and speak out. This symposium features Hank Shocklee (Public Enemy's the Bomb Squad producer and DJ), Oompa (nationally acclaimed and award-winning poet, rapper, and educator), and Prophet (CEO of 50/50 Music Group Management™ and founder of the nonprofit organization #BreathWithMe).
