The Colescott Rubin Family Band will perform an assortment of swing dance music arranged for five horns featuring some of Berklee's top jazz players as well as special guests. This is their debut performance.
Mogati is a fusion duo formed in Boston by two composer friends, Gokul Ramdas (India) and Matilde Soto-Aguilar (Chile). In this performance they will present a set of originals and arrangements with influences from both of their cultures.
Kaeli Earle returns to the stage at Berklee for an hour of new tunes, deep cuts, and probably some sick covers. Earle, a bass player and vocalist, has built a band with musicians of truly incredible caliber, and her originals are jazz, funk, and honest. Her music can be heard here.
Growing up in Malaysia, an incredibly diverse South East Asian country, Johnathan Lee has always been inspired by the musical styles that were present around him. From Carnatic music to Persian ghazals, the sonic soundscape of Malaysia has always been a playground for experimenting for him. Combining these styles with contemporary Western music, Lee's recital will feature a mix of jazz fusion and folk music, as well as some original compositions that will showcase his abilites as an instrumentalist and a composer.
