On the Vox is a co-ed a cappella group at Berklee College of Music comprising talented singers and instrumentalists from all over the world singing your favorite hits right now and your favorite hits from yesterday. Its members range from performance to music production and engineering majors. On the Vox was founded in 2014 among a small group of friends who simply loved to sing and harmonize together. Come on out and join them to kick off your week with a bang.
Valeria's band will perform her two contrasting sides in music: Latin American textures from Bolivia, Argentina, Peru, Brazil, Mexico, and Chile, influenced by African roots, and also the '50s and '60s jazz composed by masters Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, Duke Ellington, and Thelonious Monk. All compositions and arrangements are written by Penaranda.
Noé Zagroun and his band present original music, mixing jazz with roots from France and North Africa. The band's instrumental and electronic project is inspired by artists like Tigran Hamasyan, Shai Maetro, and Jacob Collier.
With performances in voiceovers for cartoons such as Explosion Bus created by Jonathan Katz, performances in operas, musicals, and the lead singer in bands, Cheyenne Prescott presents an evening of original R&B music, covers, and arrangements. Her performances at Berklee include Singers Showcase and different student activism groups that advocate for women’s rights, gender rights, and racial equality. She is currently on the board of the Berklee Women in Action club and involved in the Free the Tampons movement.
