Description

This course presents an overview of administrative tasks, teaching methods, and instructional materials suitable for use in instrumental music program in the K-12 schools. It includes a detailed examination of teaching techniques for beginning instrumental students and a survey of appropriate method books for instrumental instruction at the middle and high school levels. Special focus is given to developing individual performance skills along side ensemble development in a K-12 school setting.
