Description

The Women in Rock Ensemble offers an opportunity to female singers and instrumentalists whose performance skills are in the rock genre, to network, rehearse, and perform this music. Students will perform a wide variety of rock styles ranging from heavy metal and punk to alternative and some classic rock. Original compositions are welcomed and encouraged. Emphasis is on stylistic integrity, melodic, harmonic, and rhythmic accuracy. While chart writing is utilized in the classroom, emphasis is on learning and executing this music by ear.
