The Hip-Hop Rating 6 Ensemble

Course Number
ENHH-400
Description

The Hip-Hop Ensemble performs the music and studies the history of hip-hop culture and its influences; students then apply those studies to their own compositions. In this course, students participate in weekly supervised rehearsals in which they study footage of shows, develop a cohesive set, program elements of the show using Logic, Ableton, and Pro Tools, etc. Students sync the programmed elements with the live elements of rap, singing, spoken word and dance in preparation for a final performance. This course emphasizes stylistic integrity, as well as melodic, harmonic, and rhythmic accuracy.
