Comprehensive Ticket Policy for Students and Faculty/Staff

2023–2024 Ticket Policy

These policies apply to internal ticketed events at Berklee College of Music and Boston Conservatory at Berklee. Rental events and certain visiting artist events are not eligible for these policies. The availability of discounted or complimentary tickets is not guaranteed, and limits do apply. Discounts may be a reduced cost or a free ticket, depending on the show. Please only order discounted or complimentary tickets if you are sure that you can use them. Policies are subject to change.

Production = the entire run of a specific show (e.g. Rent, April 7–10).

Performance = a single performance within a production (e.g. the April 7, 8:00 p.m. performance of Rent).

Opening night = the first ticketed and open-to-the-public performance of a production.

Berklee Student and Faculty/Staff Discount

College and Conservatory Students and Faculty/Staff*

  • Four discounted tickets per Berklee Performance Center GENERAL ADMISSION performance (available when tickets go on sale)
  • Four discounted tickets per Boston Conservatory Theater production (available two weeks before opening night)
  • Two discounted tickets per Berklee Performance Center RESERVED SEATING performance (available when tickets go on sale)
  • Two discounted tickets per Seully Hall performance (available two weeks before opening night)
  • Two discounted tickets per Zack Box faculty-directed production (available two weeks before opening night)
  • One discounted ticket per Zack Box student-directed production (available two weeks before opening night)

Only tickets booked in advance are eligible for these discounts. All day-of-show ticket sales will have a cost. Restrictions apply: Not every production will offer a discount. If you order a free ticket to a performance that sells out and your ticket has not been redeemed ten (10) minutes after showtime, then your seat may be given to someone on the Wait List. To order your discounted student or faculty/staff tickets, you may:

  • Visit berklee.edu/events and order tickets online. Choose your quantity of tickets under the "Berklee Student" or "Berklee Faculty/Staff" price. Add tickets to your shopping cart. In your shopping cart, you must enter your full Berklee email address as the membership ID. Click submit to verify your eligibility and proceed with your order. If your membership ID is not recognized in the system, please email the box office at boxoffice@berklee.edu. If you receive an error message, then you may have already reached your limit of discounted tickets for the production.
  • Visit the box office and order tickets in person at 136 Massachusetts Avenue. You will need to provide your Berklee email address and present your Berklee ID. During fall and spring semesters, the box office is open Monday–Friday, 12:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m. (as well as two hours prior to ticketed events at Berklee Performance Center and one hour prior to ticketed events at all other venues). We are closed on weekends and Berklee holidays.

*Please note that the name on the ticket order must match the name in the email address that you are providing to order discounted or complimentary tickets. Fraudulent use of discounted or complimentary tickets by individuals will result in the discontinuation of ticket benefits.

Wait List

In the event of a sold-out performance at select venues, the box office will start a wait list one hour prior to the show. There is no guarantee that there will be any unused seats at a sold out performance. Patrons must be physically present and may only place their own name on the wait list. Wait list position is forfeited if a patron is not present when their name is called.

Will Call

Patrons who choose to leave their tickets at will call must present a photo ID to claim their tickets.

College: Leader Tickets

Show leaders of Berklee Performance Center events are entitled to receive 50 complimentary tickets for their show. Leader tickets may not be resold at a cost and will only be released to the show leader 24–48 hours after their production meeting (to schedule, email bpcproduction@berklee.edu). Leader tickets are located in the orchestra (or first come, first-served tickets if the show is General Admission) and will be given to the show leader in advance to distribute to their guests. The box office will not manage this list of attendees.

Conservatory: Production Comps

For each Conservatory production, an allotment of complimentary tickets will be made available to the production members. These production comps are intended for non-Berklee guests without access to discounted tickets. Student and faculty/staff cast and crew can obtain free tickets in advance per the above policies. Production comps will not be held at the box office.

  • Boston Conservatory Theater: Tickets are requested via a box office spreadsheet, and mobile tickets are sent to the provided email addresses 24–48 hours prior to opening night.
  • Seully Hall: Tickets are requested via email and left at will call.
  • Zack Box faculty-directed production: Tickets are requested via a box office spreadsheet, and mobile tickets are sent to the provided email addresses 24–48 hours prior to opening night.
  • Zack Box student-directed production: Tickets are password-protected. Show leaders are responsible for sharing the password with their guests so they may order tickets.

Any unused production comps will be returned to the inventory for public sale no later than 5:00 p.m. on opening night.

Departmental Holds

Departments may request to purchase a block of tickets for certain events at select Berklee venues. This can be coordinated with a box office manager by emailing boxoffice@berklee.edu. The box office will hold the best tickets available at the time of the request. For reserved seating blocks of 20 or more, tickets will be spaced out in clusters throughout the venue. Departments are responsible for contacting the box office five days before the performance to release or purchase tickets. If the box office does not receive information regarding holds by this time, then the tickets will be released for public sale.

Group discounts for 10 or more tickets will be applied when available, and tickets must be purchased using the department's procurement card or cash. Please schedule a purchase meeting with a box office manager by emailing boxoffice@berklee.edu. Departments are responsible for distributing these tickets to their guests.

Off-Campus Performances

Berklee students and faculty/staff are eligible for two complimentary tickets per ticketed off-campus performance. These tickets are typically issued by the off-campus venues on the day of the show to check for Berklee ID. For some of these events, the box office will receive an allotment of complimentary tickets to distribute on campus.

The Red Room at Cafe 939

The Red Room at Cafe 939 presents many free events each semester that are produced by various departments. This venue also hosts ticketed concerts from touring artists, which are presented by outside promoters. These concerts will occasionally have student discounts that are posted on individual events on the Red Room at Cafe 939's website.

Any questions regarding ticket policies should be directed to the Berklee box office, boxoffice@berklee.edu or 617-747-2261.
