Commencement 2004 - A Message from Alumni Affairs
Dear Graduating Class of 2004,
I would first like to congratulate you on your upcoming graduation this Mayand introduce myself as the Director of Alumni Affairs at Berklee. In a few months you will be joining the impressive roster of Berklee alumni, and in Welcoming you, I would like to take a quick moment to share a few services that the college provides to alumni.
Several years ago the college introduced lifetime e-mail accounts for all Alumni, and to date we have approximately 6,500 alumni using the service. In addition, usage of the alumni website has dramatically increased and more graduates are taking advantage of the employment and performance listings, Berklee today online, alumni notes, alumni event listings, message boards, alumni discounts, and news and information regarding the college.
As we continue to build Berklee's online presence, we urge you to become involved. Exciting initiatives such as Berkleemusic.com and the Alumni grant program have provided additional resources to graduates, and more advances are forthcoming. The college continues to be committed to providing more services to our alumni, and by staying connected to Berklee you will see the benefits first-hand. We all know the importance of networking in this industry and a great way to stay connected with friends, the college, and the alumni community is through the alumni publication, Berklee today. Or if you decide to leave Boston after graduation, through our domestic and international alumni chapters. The Office of Alumni Affairs continues to promote alumni activities, and hosts close to 40 alumni events per year. Recent events have included an IAJE Alumni Reception honoring Lee and Susan Berk, New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago Alumni Showcases, Berklee @ New York Blue Note, Tal Herzbergg-Focus on Pro Tools, the Annual Alumni Brunch at NAMM, and many others.
As you prepare for post-graduation plans, I urge you to begin thinking about how our office can assist you in your future endeavors. Please feel free to contact me directly at 617-747-2449 or stop by my office in room 6A on the 6th floor of the 1140 Boylston Street building.
