Berklee City Music Research Forum

Gathering experts in the fields of education, music, technology, youth development, and community outreach, the Berklee City Music Research Forum will provide a platform to share insights, determine relevant questions, and establish common themes to frame a research initiative.
Monday, February 29, 2016
11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
David Friend Recital Hall, Berklee College of Music, 921 Boylston Street, Boston
Berklee is uniquely positioned to share best practices based upon our success in music education settings serving adolescent youth from underserved communities, and we are launching a study of our work with students in our City Music program.
The research forum will be framed around three topics: creative youth development, science, and technology. It will address these topics through a series of panels that include a presentation by a selected speaker, core questions, group discussion, and a brief, informal presentation by each group. The insights and questions generated by these panels will be collected by City Music leadership and used as part of its efforts to frame an in-house research project.
Speakers include:
  • Krystal Banfield, Ed.D., dean of Berklee City Music at Berklee
  • Susan Rogers, Ph.D., associate professor of Music Production and Engineering at Berklee
  • Lee Whitmore, Ed.D., vice president of Education Outreach and Social Entrepreneurship at Berklee
In case of inclement weather or other unforeseen conditions, the forum will be held on April 4, 2016. Please contact Cyrus Roxas (617-747-8526) with general questions or for hotel suggestions.
