Berklee in the Classroom: Music Therapy
Students in Berklee's Music Therapy Department learn to apply music's enormous force to improve the quality of life of individuals with special needs, including children and adults with disabilities. Music therapy majors become familiar with the professional work environment through a series of practica in community settings, including schools, medical centers, nursing facilities, and other agencies serving people of diverse needs. In the Practicum 1 class, professor Julie Buras Zigo guides students through their first experiences with real-life clients. Watch the videos below to experience the class and meet Zigo, chair Suzanne Hanser, and three students.
