The general counsel is responsible for the management of legal work arising from the activities of Berklee’s programs and associated activities. The general counsel performs a wide variety of legal services, including the following:

  • Providing legal advice and representation to Berklee and its officers and employees while acting on Berklee’s behalf
  • Advising Berklee officials on regulatory compliance and other legal issues
  • Representing Berklee in litigation before federal and state courts and administrative agencies
  • Advising on issues involving risk management
  • Assisting with policy development
  • Preparing and negotiating contracts between Berklee and other entities
  • Representing Berklee in commercial transactions
  • Establishing relationships with and supervising the activities of outside counsel
